The Awdal State Movement proudly celebrated its one-year anniversary on September 23, 2024, marking a significant milestone. The leaders and members of the Awdal State Movement have tirelessly dedicated themselves to highlighting the struggles of the people in the Awdal/Salal region and Gabiley District to the outside world.

One of their initial tasks involved undertaking several diplomatic trips aimed at bringing the issues faced by the Awdal/Salal region and Gabiley District to the attention of the federal government of Somalia, as well as regional leaders, including those in Khatumo State, and neighboring countries such as Ethiopia and Djibouti.

Following these successful diplomatic efforts, the leaders and members of the Awdal State Movement continue to advocate for the freedom and justice of the people in the Awdal/Salal region and Gabiley District. Their commitment to this cause remains unwavering as they work towards a brighter future for their communities.
